A. Carter Linstead

A. Carter Linstead brings a dynamic blend of senior management experience and entrepreneurial spirit to Acculus, with a career spanning the utility, construction, and telecommunications sectors.

In the 1990s, Carter served in Executive Management at a thriving energy audit firm based in San Francisco—while living in Boston with his newlywed wife. The work was rewarding, but the weekly BOS–SFO flights became so routine that he jokes United Airlines would call to check on him if he missed one. Eventually, Carter and his wife relocated to San Francisco to help the firm navigate the emerging California energy deregulation market.

Fun Fact: During this time, Carter was recruited by Enron, a then rising-star energy company.  The company was a Wall Street darling at the time and the position was potentially very lucrative.  Whether it was sharp foresight or dumb luck, he chose to stay the course with his then current firm.

After navigating the firm’s success through the deregulated energy space, Carter was tapped to spearhead its expansion into telecommunications. When the company later exited that sector, Carter saw untapped potential and founded his own San Francisco-based telecom consulting firm. His boutique firm quickly earned a reputation for excellence, serving Global Fortune 500 and Nasdaq 100 clients, primarily in the Bay Area. He sold the business in the late 2000s and relocated to Chapel Hill, NC.

In 2011, just three days after his non-compete expired, Carter joined Acculus—the one firm he had long admired for its total quality and unwavering integrity.

Carter is passionate about business and deeply devoted to his family. He is still happily married to his ever patient wife and together they have a son and daughter finishing college and now stepping into their own life and business adventures.
